Blue Ocean - Bobbie Whittaker

Bobbie is based in Birmingham, UK. After leaving a career in Environmental Consultancy, she is now a practicing artist with her work being collected internationally.

Bobbie's work is process based and often begins with a feeling or emotion and develops based on her initial mark making. She uses bold colours straight from the tube which she selects in response to a dominant emotion. She often uses natural forms as inspiration for her colours and layering technique, which she completes in oil paint. She likens her unique layering technique to a natural formation process.

This piece, with its minimalist charm, is a silent ode to the early morning sea, its surface a mirror reflecting the awakening sun’s first beams. The artwork whispers tales of the deep, its blues and golds a secret language spoken between the waves and the light.
