Siouxsie IV - Laura Tinald

Laura Tinald is a Birmingham-based artist and illustrator Laura has loved to draw and paint for as long as she can remember. 

Working predominantly in inks and pencil on paper, Laura brings her subjects to life through intricate detail contrasted with bold lines and loose ink. While her work looks effortless, her process is meticulous.

Laura loves music old and new. She is inspired by icons of the late 70s and early 80s – her colour palette informed by illustration and cover artwork of that era.

Laura Tinald’s brushwork captures Siouxsie Sioux—a blend of punk edge and delicate grace. In this portrait, punk meets vulnerability. Siouxsie’s iconic persona softens under Laura’s strokes. The paper becomes a canvas of contrasts: punk’s rebellion against a softer light.
