ONLY CONNECT SERIES
The Only Connect series is rooted in collaboration between Hannah and her son, Sylvan, who regularly brings her stones accompanied by elaborate stories. “Each one is a portrait of a stone he found and gifted to me,” she explains. “I wanted to elevate these magical stones by giving them presence in their own portraits, just as we elevate ancient standing stones in the landscape.”
The series reflects the merging of motherhood and artistic practice, a space where play, myth and materiality meet. Hannah often jokes, “I’m certain the rocks came from Elsewhere,” a sentiment that threads through the work’s quiet, mythic pulse.
