Blurred Girl I - Jonas Ranson
Jonas Ransons, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, is an artist who after being based in East London has recently moved to the coast. His work spans Fine Art Practice and silk screen print making. Drawing inspiration from 1980s popular culture, Ransons creates vivid, photo-realistic portraits. These classical neck-up renderings explore themes of performance, glamour, and pop culture.
The portraits embody a retro-futurism style, offering futuristic visions articulated in a retro style, creating a dialogue between the past and the future. The interplay of elements evokes nostalgia, a yearning for the past, and a vision of a luxurious escapist world. Jonas’s works merge various painterly appearances and techniques, challenging the dichotomy between highbrow and lowbrow culture

The Blurred Girl Series is created combining a spray-painting technique, hand drawn and painted sketches, and finally being digitally worked up and printed as a CMYK four colour screen print.
To finish the creative process, a lustre layer is added to the artwork , enhancing the gorgeously edgy and luxurious vibe of the image
