Anita Roye, artist, art psychotherapist, and all-round powerhouse.
Anita’s practice is guided by feeling. She doesn’t approach the canvas with a plan, she arrives with presence. Her work is intuitive, visceral, and deeply human, emerging from a place where emotion leads and form follows. Each mark made is a response, to a pull, a feeling. There’s no set path, just raw energy and deep intention. In her own words, Anita “eliminates the unnecessary, allowing the necessary to speak.”
But it’s not just how she paints, it’s how she sees. Anita finds art in the overlooked, creativity in the mundane, inspiration in the in-between. We have found she has a way of noticing what others pass by, of holding space for the quiet, the unresolved, the transitional. That way of seeing is at the heart of her latest collection, “The Spaces In Between.”
Her latest collection, “The Spaces In Between,” explores liminal space, the corridors, stairwells, and windows that hold us in transition. The places that feel like nowhere and everywhere at once. Inspired by her first visits to our gallery, these pieces are a meditation on discomfort, possibility, and the quiet power of not knowing what comes next. It’s art that meets you where you are and gently asks you to stay a little longer. This new collection will be unveiled when we open the doors to our new gallery!
